The Story Behind Our Vision

From a garage studio experiment to reshaping how businesses tell their stories through 3D animation

2019

The Spark That Started Everything

Early studio setup with animation workstations

Picture this: Marlena Quinault had just finished her third cup of coffee at 2 AM, staring at a 3D model that refused to render correctly. What started as a freelance side project in her garage had turned into something bigger than expected. The local veterinary clinic needed a way to explain complex surgical procedures to pet owners, and traditional videos weren't cutting it.

That moment of frustration became our foundation. We realized that technical storytelling needed a different approach – one that could break down complex ideas into digestible visual experiences. The vet clinic project took three months longer than planned, but watching pet owners finally understand their options made every sleepless night worthwhile.

By December 2019, word had spread through Story City's business community. A manufacturing company needed training videos. A real estate developer wanted to showcase unbuilt properties. Each project taught us something new about translating complex concepts into engaging 3D narratives.

2023

Learning Through Growing Pains

Team collaboration during project development

Growth isn't always pretty. In early 2023, we took on four major projects simultaneously – a decision that nearly broke us. Deadlines collided, client expectations varied wildly, and our small team was stretched beyond capacity. That's when Bethel Kovarovic joined as our project coordinator, bringing much-needed organization to our creative chaos.

The real breakthrough came from an unexpected source: a failed project. A construction firm hired us to create safety training animations, but our initial approach was too polished, too removed from the gritty reality of construction sites. Workers found it irrelevant. We scrapped everything and started over, this time involving actual crew members in the creative process.

That experience reshaped our entire approach. We learned that effective 3D animation isn't about impressing viewers – it's about serving their specific needs. The construction company became one of our longest-running clients, and their feedback helped us develop our signature style of practical, purpose-driven animation.

2025

Building Tomorrow's Visual Language

Advanced animation rendering setup

As we move deeper into 2025, we're seeing businesses struggle with information overload. Technical documentation that nobody reads. Training materials that don't stick. Marketing messages that get lost in the noise. Our response? We're doubling down on what makes us different: creating 3D experiences that actually connect with people.

The future we're building focuses on collaboration over consultation. Instead of clients describing what they think they need, we work together to uncover what their audiences actually require. This year, we're expanding our approach to include interactive 3D experiences that respond to user behavior, making complex information not just visible, but genuinely engaging.

Our goal isn't to be the biggest animation studio – it's to be the most effective at solving communication challenges through visual storytelling. Every project we take on teaches us something new about connecting technical information with human understanding.
